Silymarin

Typically used to treat a wide range of liver disorders, the active component of Milk Thistle which shields the liver from toxins and promotes healthy liver function is known as Silymarin. A group of flavonoids which are thought to help repair liver cells damaged by alcohol and other toxic substances, Silymarin keeps new liver cells from being destroyed by these same toxins. It is also believed to reduce inflammation and is a strong antioxidant. Silymarin milk thistle is typically used to treat liver cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, toxin-induced liver damage and gallbladder disorders.
